Case Studies Turn Customer Success into Sales & Marketing Assets
Few marketing tools are more persuasive than a relatable story from a happy customer. I help companies transform those tales of success into captivating case studies that showcase your product’s impact in the world.
As a B2B case study writer, I weave facts and figures into an engaging narrative. Think of it as brand storytelling. Your past successes can and should win you new business. It’s also a reflective process for everyone involved; you may even learn something useful for future customers.
Why Case Studies Are Vital
Social Proof Builds Trust: A well-crafted case study is proof from an unbiased source – your customer. It shows prospects that others just like them trust your product or service, instantly building credibility and confidence.
Lead Nurturing Content: Case studies are great for nurturing leads. Prospective clients on the fence can read a relatable success story and imagine themselves achieving the same results, moving them closer to a decision.
Sales Team Ammunition: Equip your sales team with real-world success stories that speak far louder than a pitch full of technical jargon. A strong case study honestly addresses objections and provides a persuasive reference they can share with prospects to close deals faster.
My Case Study Process
I approach case studies from a journalistic perspective. There’s always a story to be told. There’s humanity and commercial interest to be found in every customer relationship. Turning the facts and figures into a compelling narrative is where I come in. It goes something like this:
Research & Interviews: I’ll start by diving into your business. I’ll research the industry, get to know what you do, and do whatever it takes to understand your audience. Then, I’ll interview your customers and internal stakeholders to capture authentic quotes and insights. I ask the right questions, uncover the important details, and bring a natural curiosity to my work.
Narrative Crafting: I then turn interview notes and transcripts into a clear, persuasive story arc. The result will read less like a dry testimonial and more like a journey. The scene will be set. The characters and the challenges they face will be introduced. Your product or service will then take centre stage.
Polish & Delivery: You’ll receive a polished, publication-ready case study that’s shareable and aligned with your brand voice. I’ll keep you in the loop as things progress so that we’re aligned on themes and structure.

A tech case study writer for conservation and public safety
I write case studies for companies bringing emerging technologies into conservation, emergency response and other specialist fields. That means understanding the technology, interviewing the people using it and explaining how it changes the work they do.
For DJI Enterprise, I’ve explored how marine scientists attach research tags to whales, how firefighters investigate hazardous chemical leaks and how researchers are developing more targeted approaches to pest control and malaria interventions. More on that below, but each story involved going beyond the product specifications to understand deployment decisions, operational constraints and the evidence behind the results.
Conservation and environmental technology
Conservation projects bring together scientific questions, limited resources and unpredictable field conditions. I help explain how emerging technologies and tools such as drones and aerial sensors fit into research and environmental management, drawing out the ingenuity behind a project and preserving the details that give it credibility.
Public safety and emergency response
Emergency services need to understand how new equipment will fit into established procedures. My work has covered thermal imaging, hazardous materials response, firefighting and search and rescue, with a focus on how teams evaluate technology, introduce it into operations and use the information it provides.
Making the case for technology adoption
If you’re developing sensors, robotics, AI-assisted monitoring or another emerging technology, your prospective customers will have practical questions. What does deployment involve? Who needs to interpret the data? What changes for the people doing the work? What have existing customers learned?
I can turn those answers into a detailed customer story that gives decision-makers a clearer basis for considering your technology. You’ll work directly with me, from initial research and interviews through to finished copy.
For products and services that need explaining
Some of your most powerful stories may be sitting in project notes, sales conversations or the heads of people who are already busy delivering the next job.
My role as a case study writer means I’ll help you identify which experiences would be useful to a prospective customer, then find the detail that makes them worth reading. Why did the customer need a different approach? What did adoption involve? What changed in practice? What would someone considering a similar investment want to know?
That reflective process can also reveal lessons your own team can use in future projects.
Examples of my case study writing
Southern Manatee Fire & Rescue: drones at an ammonia leak
Read the HazMat response case study >
An ammonia leak at a Florida food warehouse left firefighters needing to inspect rooftop equipment before they could stop the release.
A DJI drone provided the aerial view that helped crews locate the source and determine which valve to shut, avoiding repeated reconnaissance trips onto the roof. The facility was operating again a little over two hours after the HazMat team was called. Through interviews with UAS coordinator Rich Gatanis, I explored the communication challenge behind the incident: crews working across separate hazard zones, with commanders relying on imperfect radio reports. Live aerial video gave them a shared view of the operation as it unfolded.
DJI Enterprise and Ocean Alliance
Read the whale research case study
Attaching a research tag to a whale traditionally meant manoeuvring a boat close enough for a scientist to reach the animal with a long pole. Ocean Alliance’s alternative involved a modified DJI drone, 3D-printed components and a carefully timed drop. I interviewed the team about the development process, from more than 200 test flights and warehouse trials over a simulated whale to an expedition that successfully tagged more than 20 animals.
The story captures the practical ingenuity behind making marine research cheaper, less intrusive and accessible to more scientists. This fascinating project involved hours of interviews with Iain Kerr and his team, in order to tell a story that did justice to the innovation involved and the transformative change that can happen when the right technology is put in the hands of the right people.
Drones, caterpillars and a fragile island ecosystem
Read the Maldives customer story >
Hairy caterpillars were stripping trees and causing painful skin reactions in one of the world’s most desirable holiday destinations.
Some resorts were responding with heavy pesticide spraying or felling trees whose roots help hold the islands together. I spoke to entomologist Dr Bart Knols about a more targeted approach using DJI’s Agras T30 spraying drone. The case study explores plans to combine multispectral imagery with AI, identifying infestations earlier so treatment could focus on affected areas while using less pesticide.
Frequently asked questions about hiring a case study writer
Can you write about a technical product or complex service?
Yes. My DJI Enterprise and Pelican work involved interviewing technical specialists and operational teams across several sectors. I ask the right questions and bring the research and writing skills you need. Then I work with your experts to check the details before anything is published.
What if we don’t have impressive headline figures?
There may still be a valuable story about a change in working practices, a difficult deployment or a new application. We’ll establish what the evidence supports and whether it answers the questions your audience is likely to have.
Can you work with our marketing team or agency?
Yes. I can take on an individual case study or support a wider programme, working with your existing briefs, brand voice and approval process.
How much does a B2B case study cost?
The fee depends on the research, number of interviews, length and supporting material required. It also depends on the deliverables you have in mind: A long-read, a report, a landing page and email campaign, a video voiceover script? I’ve worked on them all, so it’s totally up to you. Send me an outline of your plans and I’ll come back with any questions and a quote for a defined scope.
